Work is good, I am still painting, I don’t know if, or when I’ll ever stop painting. I dont know how there is so much painting to be done in such a small shop. I am covered in paint at all times despite my best efforts, I have it luckier than most so I won’tContinue reading “Second Week – 2 days in”

After work placement today we went on a walk through Alcazaba and learned the ancient history of the ruins. After we got up we then went on a hike up to Gibralfaro which was extremely difficult but 100% worth it as we got to see the sun begin to set. It was a beautiful dayContinue reading “Jan 28th”
La Manquita
Over the week, we visited La Manquita twice, once during a historical/cultural tour and when passing by towards the port. We learned the colloquial nickname “La Manquita” from the tour guide and much of the building history revolving around the ever present religious groups who are in charge of building and maintaining La Manquita.

Food throughout my stay
I have looked forward to eating lovely food every night of my stay here. After work, in the day or into the night, the food is open and delicious. I’ve spent some days going to different restaurants by myself as if on a pilgrimage searching for tasty snacks or I’ve also spent some days enjoyingContinue reading “Food throughout my stay”
Day two at Clinica Veterinaria Velazquez was an exciting day ,i was really looking forward to what the day had to bring! I realized I forgot to mention on day one that my hours are 10 AM to 3 PM—glad I got that sorted out && my new friend and I went out to buy scrubs together on our rain walk yesterday (we both needed them), and ended up with matching pairs. A bit silly, but fun!Today, I got to observe Dr. Bartolome administer vaccinations to both cats and dogs. He asked if we knew how to calculate vaccine dosages based on a dog’s weight and the vaccine’s mL, which was great as i had been thought how to do this in my laboratory techniques class at home in college . One dog came in with some really bad, loose teeth—one even fell out when touched by the vet ! They’ve scheduled extractions for a couple of days from now. After work, I took a short 10-minute walk to the beach, which is so close to the clinic—definitely looking forward to lunch breaks there! Later, I took the bus back to my accommodation and spent some time relaxing. In the evening, myself and liza , we walked around Malaga and stumbled upon two talented young women who had created dresses from old tobacco boxes—they were showcasing their art on the streets! It was such a beautiful night, and we ended it with tapas and mocktails.A perfect day in the clinic and in Malaga!
Relaxing after a lot of traveling
After we got the bus to the cave networks and had our walk through we found a small village frigilana and looked through some local shops and took in some pretty decent views.
Cave exploration
It was really interesting to visit the nerja caves over the weekend and learn how they formed it was unique experience when compared to the sights back home in Ireland.
