Days 10-11

Day 10:

On Wednesday (day 10) I was asked to go onto the schools podcast where they asked me about the Erasmus trip, like how I applied and my experience on the trip. They then asked me questions about things in Ireland compared to here in Malaga, such as transport and work.

After work I went to Plaza Mayor where I had food and bought clothes. I spent a few hours there then went back to the accommodation. I then spent the evening watching football in the cinema room.

Day 11:

Work began with a class where you learn how to take care of household chores such as ironing and washing. Then we were met by Laura and Paula who came to see how we were getting on in work and they were talking to my supervisor to get a report on my work.

After work there was a flamenco show on that lasted an hour. I enjoyed it as it was a unique experience. Then we watched the Man UTD football match in the cinema room and called it a night.

Last day of work.

I have finally finished painting my wall.

After endless mistakes and leaks of paint- it’s done. I am quite happy with it, even though it isn’t my design- I tried my very best to make it somewhat mine.

I wouldn’t be able to finish it if it wasn’t for the help from Siobhan and Kian, as they did all the boring, long bits that i hated doing.

Hope yall like it as much as i do!

mural.

Thursday

Today in work we continued on painting the mural on the wall. The kids then performed a dance routine for world peace day which was great to see.

Later on in the evening we went to a flamenco show organised by Erasmus. At first I had no expectations going into it but by the end I really enjoyed it. To finish off the night we went to a karaoke bar for a few hours and that was a good laugh.

Day 11

Pretty cool day in work as it was world peace day and the dance classes they have been practicing for the last few weeks came into place today outside the school next to the fountain in the square where there was parent and spectators watching on as they performed the dance and it was great to see. Had McDonald’s for lunch once again and after lunch I got to help with a dance routine for the kids although I didn’t know what I was doing.in the last class it was more of a like fun class for them and one the students who’s really good with technology was showing them how to play a game on the computers which was intriguing and fun to watch. After work I started to pack to get a head start and then hit the town to pick up some souvenirs where we bumped into Laura and Paula. Then stopped in the cafe next to the ibis for lunch. When I got home I started to pack before getting ready for the flamenco show. It was brilliant to see there culture and a very entertaining night, we then went the karaoke bar as it’s one the last nights and finished off the night again watching a film in the cinema room

Flaminco show and karaoke

Out of the whole trip, today was definitely the highlight. It was peace day in the crèche which was a lot of fun, I got a tattoo, we got to see a flaminco show and went to karaoke after. Flaminco is a type of Spanish dancing; I think they were trying to tell a story but as the singing was in Spanish I couldn’t understand but that doesn’t mean I was highly interested. I was extremely intrigued and impressed by the performance and enjoyed it. After the show we went to a karaoke bar which was definitely the highlight of the night, almost everyone came and it was slightly awkward at the beginning but as it went on we all got along great and I think everyone really enjoyed it. I personally think I gave a great performance.

Alcazaba + Gibralfaro

This day started nicely with a quiet day of work experience and a pleasant meal before going for the aspiring hike.

I dressed in loose light clothes and my most applicable shoes to fully prep for the hike.

It turned out to be a lovely stroll, and it was filled with the most incredible sights, including the defeated faces of my friends after reaching the top.

The huge bull fighting arena was a particular shock as i had no idea it would be so apparent.
