Days 4,5,6 in Malaga

On day 4 of Erasmus me and Moya decided to treat our selfs and headed into the city to get our hairs washed and blow dried.

We also found a smash burger shop and we went for lunch.

After this day we wanted to go out and explore night life in Malaga city and we found a great karoke bar ans met more people that are on Erasmus in college and became good friends.

On the 5th day of Erasmus when we were in work placement it was one of the service users birthday so we sang her happy birthday in Spanish and she was really happy.

Melica one of the workers from include is Moroccan and she made us Moroccan tea and also made the birthday cake.

This might we when ans explores the town for bars and restaurants and we stopped in a few of them to get some water 😊.

On our 6th day in Malaga we went on a day trip to Granada ans it was such a beautiful city and we had a great time.

In Granada me and the girls went to get food because we were hungry so we went to KFC it was nice but we were so full after.

We then met more people from the college in some Irish bar in Granada and we all had our tea and coffees, this was the first Irish bar we had being to that felt really Irish.

We went out later in the night for a bit of food and karoke it was great fun me and Moya love doing karoke over here the karoke places hate to see us coming 😂.

Day Five

Another day working hard and enjoying the learning more about the Spanish culture in school and personally. I feel the Spanish and Irish are very similar in our mannerisms and our kindness and compassion towards other people and most of all our sense of humour. I have laughed a lot this week with the help of Google translate 😂 a stroll this evening brought me to yet again another beautiful church. My third church to visit tucked away on the streets of Malaga and when you enter through the doors it’s an experience I will never forget.

We finished up our night with a Chinese meal which was delicious. Really looking forward to our trip to Granada tomorrow x

Day Four

Another great day working in my placement. Loving the special unit, children and teachers ❤️ I move at 11am into the junior infants with another kind and very professional teacher who I have learned so much from .

It has been a very heartwarming experience and the Principal, staff and children at my school have been so supportive I really feel like one of the gang at this stage 🩷 Abbie and I go to a beautiful cafe outside our school for our lunch and again we now feel like a local enjoying the Spanish culture, food and delicious coffee x

Day 4

Today we visited several local voluntary and state led local initiatives and the local market. All of these places are important to locals and older people to meet up, not feel isolated and find out what is happening in their area. We visited and learned about the little church of our lady where the local fishermen celebrate each year by carrying a statue into the sea. In the afternoon  we restocked the supermarket shelves and chatted to the service users. In the evening, the group met or a tour of Alcazaba which was really nice, even in the rain!

Day 2 Malaga

Today we prepared posters for an upcoming workshop on depression, met some other students from Portugal and some volunteers and service users. We did a team building exercise where we collectively made some yummy cookies. In the evening we met up, explored Malaga city and a few of us found a nice chinese restaurant for dinner
