Day 5 at the Clinic The day started with golden sunshine, but things took a sad turn when Bartolome told me that the Pinscher I assisted with yesterday passed away at home. It was a tough moment, and I found myself really missing my own dogs back home. I know this is the field IContinue reading “Day 5 đ¶”

Day 4 Work placement
Started the day with a lovely walk to workâspotted a lemon tree and a cool shore along the way! The first patient of the day was a Frenchie named “Puppies” (government name: Dexter, haha). Later, the Pinscher from the other day came back for his routine extraction. I assisted with the procedure, prepping the vetâsContinue reading “Day 4 Work placement”
Day 3
Today was full of interesting cases at the clinic . We had a cat who needed an ultrasound after dropping crystals in his urine (a common issue causing blockages). We also saw a dog with multiple dew clawsâalways cool to see, though itâs more common than you’d think. I’ve been bonding with Bartolomeâs dog, Chikka.Continue reading “Day 3”
Day two at Clinica Veterinaria Velazquez was an exciting day ,i was really looking forward to what the day had to bring! I realized I forgot to mention on day one that my hours are 10 AM to 3 PMâglad I got that sorted out && my new friend and I went out to buy scrubs together on our rain walk yesterday (we both needed them), and ended up with matching pairs. A bit silly, but fun!Today, I got to observe Dr. Bartolome administer vaccinations to both cats and dogs. He asked if we knew how to calculate vaccine dosages based on a dogâs weight and the vaccineâs mL, which was great as i had been thought how to do this in my laboratory techniques class at home in college . One dog came in with some really bad, loose teethâone even fell out when touched by the vet ! Theyâve scheduled extractions for a couple of days from now. After work, I took a short 10-minute walk to the beach, which is so close to the clinicâdefinitely looking forward to lunch breaks there! Later, I took the bus back to my accommodation and spent some time relaxing. In the evening, myself and liza , we walked around Malaga and stumbled upon two talented young women who had created dresses from old tobacco boxesâthey were showcasing their art on the streets! It was such a beautiful night, and we ended it with tapas and mocktails.A perfect day in the clinic and in Malaga!
