Day 4 Work placement

Started the day with a lovely walk to work—spotted a lemon tree and a cool shore along the way! The first patient of the day was a Frenchie named “Puppies” (government name: Dexter, haha). Later, the Pinscher from the other day came back for his routine extraction. I assisted with the procedure, prepping the vet’sContinue reading “Day 4 Work placement”

Day two at Clinica Veterinaria Velazquez was an exciting day ,i was really looking forward to what the day had to bring! I realized I forgot to mention on day one that my hours are 10 AM to 3 PM—glad I got that sorted out && my new friend and I went out to buy scrubs together on our rain walk yesterday (we both needed them), and ended up with matching pairs. A bit silly, but fun!Today, I got to observe Dr. Bartolome administer vaccinations to both cats and dogs. He asked if we knew how to calculate vaccine dosages based on a dog’s weight and the vaccine’s mL, which was  great as i had been thought how to do this in my laboratory techniques class at home in college .  One dog came in with some really bad, loose teeth—one even fell out when touched by the vet ! They’ve scheduled extractions for a couple of days from now. After work, I took a short 10-minute walk to the beach, which is so close to the clinic—definitely looking forward to lunch breaks there! Later, I took the bus back to my accommodation and spent some time relaxing. In the evening, myself and liza , we walked around Malaga and stumbled upon two talented young women who had created dresses from old tobacco boxes—they were showcasing their art on the streets! It was such a beautiful night, and we ended it with tapas and mocktails.A perfect day in the clinic and in Malaga!
